Meet Mel

About Me
Hello, I'm Mel. I'm from California and I'm fairly new to the furry fandom, having only joined May 2020 (Yes amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic). A lot has changed for me since.
I've been drawing digitally since 2015, and I am still learning and expanding my skills. I'm by no means a pro, intermediate at best haha. I hope to become more involved with the fandom and experience conventions soon. I plan on opening commissions every now and then too.The Fursona
My fursona is a Capuchin Monkey themed after a honeydew melon. My initial sona was a blue ocelot, however primates and monkeys resonated with me more as I've grown to love them since I was young (I loved watching Curious George as a kid!). I tend to be quiet but become extroverted and social around people I'm comfortable with, and I feel like monkeys are the same way. There's a playful and a bit mischievous side to me that I can express with Mel.
Inspiration for Mel came from the Pokémon, Grookey, and specifically melon soda; the ones from Japan. Melon soda is my favorite, very hard to find here in the States though. I've grown to love greens and aquamarine after making Mel too.
